Position: Willard High School Teacher - Spanish/French
Qualifications:
Other Requirements - Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education. Also, must possess excellent organizational, oral, written, time management, and computer skills. In addition, a complete transcript(s) of college credit must be on file before the beginning of each school year. It is the responsibility of the teacher to maintain a valid Missouri teaching certificate in the content area per DESE requirements.
General Summary: The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of various teaching and assessment strategies and be able to communicate this knowledge effectively to building teachers and parents. Deadlines dictate priorities and distractions are unavoidable, therefore flexibility and strong organizational skills are essential. It is equally important to be goal driven and maintain a high level of professionalism while adhering to Board policy.
Performance Responsibilities:
Expected to evaluate student academic growth, maintain accurate records, prepare progress and grade reports, and communicate frequently with parents on individual student progress.
Maintain an atmosphere in which character, self-reliance, responsible behavior, and a positive self-image are of prime importance.
Complete all reports as required, including student evaluation, inventories, orders, curriculum work, and lesson plans.
Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, team meetings, grade level/departmental meetings as required.
Supervise teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, students teachers, and volunteers when applicable.
Expected to treat all students in a fair and equitable manner and interact effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and community members.
Expected to pursue focused, job-embedded professional development activities; read professional journals, collaborate with peers; to be involved in building and district initiatives, and strive for continuous improvement.
