Instructor - Geological Sciences teaches courses in the discipline area of geology and earth sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Geological Sciences provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Geological Sciences typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Part-Time/ Adjunct Instructor- Sciences

  • BridgeValley Community and Technical College invites applications for adjunct (part-time) positions to serve in the Academic Affairs Division. These individuals will be responsible for the instruction of  credit courses and clinicals; and maintaining lab equipment/areas as assigned.  These positions will also be responsible for instruction of accelerated courses when applicable.

    We are seeking adjuncts to teach sections in the following disciplines: Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Nutrition, Physics, Chemistry, and Physical Science.  The standard rate of pay for a three credit hour course is $1,800 per semester. 
    • Instruct credit courses by identifying learning outcomes/competencies, developing lesson plans, syllabi and curriculum which establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects.
    • Complete required recordkeeping and grade entry for assigned courses
    • Stay in communication with assigned Department Chair and Dean
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Minimum
    • Master's degree in field; OR Master's degree with 18 completed graduate credit hours in field
    Preferred
    • Teaching experience
    • Aptitude for using technology and innovative methods for instructional delivery
