Instructor - Geological Sciences teaches courses in the discipline area of geology and earth sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Geological Sciences provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Geological Sciences typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, Education & Social Sciences, this instructor may teach such courses as: Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Social Work, Social Problems, Marriage and Family, and Social Issues. Courses may include a variety of delivery methods including on-campus, off-campus, evening, distance learning and on-line. A teaching demonstration will be required (10-15 minutes).
