Instructor - History teaches courses in the discipline area of history. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - History typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Nichols School has an opening for an experienced full-time History Department Chair beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Our educational philosophy is grounded in equity of process and outcomes, and inspired by our mission to train minds, bodies, and hearts for the work of life.
The History Department Chair will lead the history faculty and contribute to our department's continued success and growth. This position includes teaching upper-level history and advising a cohort of students. Candidates will be required to maintain open lines of communication with students and families.
