Being an Instructor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Basic Function: The instructor is responsible for the effective delivery of art course instruction; facilitation of student learning and success; the on-going development of curriculum and learning strategies, which meet the needs of students and employers; and the supervision of students. Additionally, the instructor will collaborate with other faculty and staff members to provide quality instruction for a diverse student population and will perform instructional duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures of the College.
The successful candidate will possess awareness of visual arts curriculum development and assessment; experience with digital technology (Macintosh preferred) and ability to teach use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software programs. The candidate should present excellent written and oral communication skills, knowledge of art gallery management, and an interest in providing art studio courses for a broad range of students in other disciplines.

Qualifications: Candidates must equal or surpass minimal instructional requirements established by the College's Quality Faculty Plan or demonstrate annual progress towards that attainment. Must possess a Master's degree in Art or Art History, or in a related discipline with 18 graduate hours in Art and Design Foundations, Drawing, Photography, and Graphic Design. Candidates should possess well-developed teaching skills with two years' teaching experience, and must be committed to the philosophy of the comprehensive community college.
