Position summary:

Kilgore College is a two-year, comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and an extension center in Longview, Texas. With approximately 6,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning.

Position responsibilities:

This is a nine-month faculty position reporting to the department chair of history. Expectations for this position may include the following: teach in afternoons and/or evenings (non-peak times); teach dual credit classes in high schools; develop and teach web classes; develop and teach hybrid or blended classes; and use instructional technology in the classroom. An additional opportunity of teaching during the summer semesters is available, as well. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: participation in academic advising, registration, and regular office hours. It is expected that all instructors participate in committee work, professional development activities, and student recruitment/retention activities. All full-time faculty are required to complete online course certification through the KC Faculty Innovation Center within their first year.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• A master’s degree or higher in mathematics with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics is required.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a college instructor and a commitment to excellence in teaching are required.
• Preference will be given to applicants with three or more years of college teaching and experience teaching web courses.

• Compensation for this 9-month position is based on years of teaching at institutions of higher education, and highest level of education. Base pay for no experience ranges from $43,000 for a master’s degree to $49,880 for a doctorate. Overload and summer classes are paid separately
