Franklin Academy is hiring a science instructor to serve students in grades 8 through post-graduates. Franklin Academy students have unique learning needs and often have diagnoses such as Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, and other co-occurring disabilities. The science instructor position must have an in-depth and varied background, with an ideal ability to teach physics. The science instructor will work closely with the department chair to create and implement a new science curriculum that affords college-bound students the necessary skills to attend various postsecondary environments. Additionally, the candidate will report to an Associate Academic Dean to implement instructional strategies to support student 504 Accommodation Plans. Further, the science instructor must be comfortable working outside the classroom to support the social-emotional development of our students through the residence life model. Finally, the ideal candidate must be creative and community-oriented to help increase opportunities for often underserved students.
