Instructor - Industrial Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of industrial engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Industrial Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Industrial Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Part-time Industrial Maintenance Instructor

  • Primary Purpose of Position

    Primarily instruction and public service and those forms of research which promote and enhance the college’s commitment to excellence in instruction and which supports the current needs of the students and faculty. Faculty members are responsible to the Dean or Program Manager. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, adviser and facilitator of learning.

    Essential Job Duties

    • Teach all phases of Industrial Maintenance Technology and manage rotation of students that includes instruction in mechanical maintenance, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, electric motors, predictive and preventative maintenance, variable frequency drives, electronics, motor control and fluid power, PLCs, robotics, and welding
    • Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides, and keep these revised and up to date to meet the requirements of industry
    • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress
    • Maintain records directly related to students within the Industrial Maintenance program
    • Maintain good public relations with business and industry
    • Demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and shop setting

    Qualifications

    Minimum
    3 – 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Good verbal, written, math and computer skills.
    Preferred
    Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics

    Pay for the position will be based on educational degree or in lieu of degree, years of experience in the field.
