Duties & Responsibilities

• ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
  
  • Coordinates travel arrangements including hotel accommodations, airline reservations, and preparation of itineraries.
  • Composes correspondence and replies as requested using information gathered independently and/or under faculty guidance. Reviews and approves correspondence as requested and authorized.
  • Gathers, provides, and interprets information for faculty from various sources as requested or through own initiative when appropriate.
  • Assists department leadership with the management of various funds, including faculty research accounts and program accounts.
  • Coordinates schedules of committee members. Plans all aspects of meetings and conferences, including travel, accommodations, meals, and meeting facilities.
  • Maintains multiple individual and group calendars, including direct contact with outside agencies and students scheduling appointments.
  • Supports faculty scholarship. Prepares books, articles, and other documents. Orders and receives research materials. Transcribes material as required.
• INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:
  
  • Assists in the administration of exams in accordance with faculty guidelines, which includes distribution to and retrieval from students of exam sheets, and delivery to the appropriate faculty member or his/her assistant as required by any specific exam.
  • Types, proofreads, assembles, photocopies, and distributes instructional materials.
  • Instructs students during exams and coordinates storage of exams and papers.
  • Occasional verbal communication of instructions to groups of students and/or visitors will be required.
  • Transmits final grades, which have been proofread for accuracy. The production of final exams and working with final grades requires handling this information with the strict confidentiality.
  • Develops and maintains course web pages for assigned faculty as requested.
