GILLETT LAW, APC, a reputable law firm based in San Luis Obispo, California, is seeking a Special Education Attorney to join our team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or establish a remote office space. As a Special Education Attorney, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our primary shareholder, Gregory Gillett, who possesses extensive experience in education law. Your role will involve serving clients across the Central Valley and Central Coast regions. Experience in special education advocacy and Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) proceedings is a valuable plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in special education matters.
- Collaborate with Gregory Gillett and other team members to develop effective legal strategies.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare cases for hearings.
- Advocate for clients during IEP meetings, mediation, and due process hearings.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state special education laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and advocacy.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active California State Bar membership.
- 2-10 years of experience in special education law; experience in special education advocacy and OAH proceedings is a valuable plus.
- Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel within the Central Valley and Central Coast regions.
- Experience in establishing a remote office space or willingness to work remotely.

Compensation:
- Salary commensurate with experience.
