Being an Instructor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Summary/Primary Purpose: Work with youth and adults in the Corps and community to plan and implement music classes that will include music theory, performance skills, musicianship, and character. This position requires scheduled attendance which may include nights and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: To supervise all youth in The Shield Fine Arts Academy programs.
Education and/or Experience: A minimum of 2 years music experience working with children/adults. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music. An advanced degree or training is desired however combination of High School diploma or its equivalent and teaching experience will be considered.
