Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. The Department of Computer Science at MCLA invites applications for a one-semester Instructor level position beginning in Fall 2021. We are looking for adjunct instructors to teach the following courses:
CSCI 110 Electrical Engineering Principles
Provides students with an understanding of topics in the CSCI Electrical Engineering Concentration, and reinforces students' problem-solving skills using foundational tools from mathematics and physics. Topics include conversion of units, linear equations, complex numbers, vectors, and wave functions, at the instructor's discretion.
CSCI 272 Electric Circuit Design II
Continues passive circuit elements and introduces the students to active components. Topics include Bipolar Junction Transistors, forced response of linear circuits, Operational Amplifiers, and biasing. Prerequisite: CSCI 271.
These courses meet in person at MCLA. The Fall 2021 semester dates: Sept. 1, 2021 through December 20, 2021.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teach course(s) in specific discipline
Responsible for instructional preparation and assessment of student performance
Provide assistance to students by appointment
Job Requirements:
M.S. preferred, or professionally qualified with relevant work or educational experience
