Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mathematics Department in the School of Arts & Sciences at Greenville Technical College invites applications for Instructors/Assistant Professor of Mathematics positions.
The Department of Mathematics at Greenville Technical College averages more than 2,300 students per semester and currently employs 16 full-time and 12 part-time mathematics and statistics faculty. We offer a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses in order to support the needs of a variety of programs throughout the college: Quantitative Reasoning, Probability and Statistics, Advanced Statistics, Math for Elementary Education, College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Business Calculus I and II, Analytic Geometry, Calculus I, II, and III, and Differential Equations.
The mission of the Department is to prepare virtually every degree-seeking student at the college to use math effectively in their chosen field or to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. Math courses are offered in both traditional and online formats.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Doctorate or a Master's degree with a major in Mathematics OR a Doctorate or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Have the ability to work with colleagues/students and to convey knowledge in a form that students can understand. * Adaptable to students' needs, to different teaching situations, and be able to motivate students. * Able to work in teams and independently. * Experience teaching Probability and Statistics at the college level.
