Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head.     GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide instruction in (MAT011) Mathematical Reasoning and Problem Solving (5 Credits) during the Fall 2023 Semester, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 -9:00 p.m. using the Hyflex modality. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the mathematical skills needed for the support course in Elementary Statistics or in Quantitative Reasoning. With an emphasis on vocabulary, notation, problem solving, and study skills, the course covers signed number arithmetic, integer exponents, square roots, scientific notation, percent, proportional reasoning, algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities, functions, tables and graphs, the equation of a line, and the slope and intercept(s) of a line.


    Job Requirements:


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree in Mathematics, or a closely related field
    • College-level teaching experience in developmental Mathematics
    • Experience in active and collaborative learning
    • Experience teaching a diverse student body at a community college or similar environment
    • Trained to teach using HyFlex modality, a classroom instructional approach that combines face-to-face and online synchronous learning

    ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Commitment to the Community College philosophy
    • Teaching experience at the community college level
