This will include teaching engineering techniques and concepts, tools and safety, technical documentation, and troubleshooting methods. Staff will guide students to ideas, approaches, and sources of solutions without "just doing it for them." Both positions will involve the following responsibilities:Help students troubleshoot their projects.Help students create their own student page.Motivate, inspire, and share the love of building with studentsHelp students select and define their individual project before the program begins (this can be done remotely over skype/email).Lead instructors (A) have the following additional responsibilities:Guiding class each day and being responsible for students’ safety, project organization, and completion of deliverables.Coordinating guest speaker schedules and all program logistics such as showcase nights, instructor meetings, progress reports, etc. Order all student project parts and general classroom tools (in advance of the program and during the program).Program Logistics:Each staff member will be assigned to both an AM section meeting from 8:00am – 1:00 and a PM section meeting from 12:30 – 5:00pm (30 minute overlap to accommodate guest speakers). The student-to-staff ratio is approximately ~3:1.  Typically we assign 4 staff members to each section. The skill set for each section consists: of an electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, computer scientist, and Junior TA (previous exemplary BSE student).Each section will consist of 10-14 motivated students who have passed a rigorous application process.Class meets Monday-Friday for 6 weeks (excluding 4th of July). Program start dates are typically mid-June to late July or early August and vary slightly by city. Compensation: Both positions are paid on a stipend, depending on experience.
