Description CAPS Medicine and Healthcare Instructor: The Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) is an innovative program providing junior and senior students hands-on, real-world experience in a profession of their choice. Students take rigorous college-level courses within five strands: Bioscience, Business, Engineering, Human Services, Accelerator and/or Medicine & Healthcare. Course offerings are immersive, utilizing a profession-based learning approach. Students solve real world problems, using industry standard tools and are mentored by professionals.
The open position is in our Medical & Healthcare Strand. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver the curriculum as a lead instructor.
- Promote professional development of students through industry standard profession-based practices.
- Engage as a team member of the CAPS Medical Strand by assisting with the development, implementation and underlying philosophy of the CAPS Medical Strand and CAPS program as a whole.
- Develop and execute a course marketing plan for prospective students and parents.
- Work with local post-secondary colleges and universities to facilitate concurrent credit opportunities as appropriate.
- Build partnerships with BV science educators.
- Engage and nurture industry relationships for CAPS Medical Strand.
Education/Certification:
- Medical field professional experience welcomed. Valid teaching license preferred (alternative licensure pathways are available for those who have experience in a licensed medical profession with at least 5 years of work experience).
