    Position Summary

    The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics to enhance a growing division. The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed in the St. Jude's Midwest Affiliate.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • See referral hematology/oncology consultations from throughout the Central Illinois Region.
    • Fully participate in teaching programs in hematology and oncology for undergraduate medical students and residents and participate in the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
    • Organize and conduct bench and/or clinical research in the field of pediatric hematology/oncology.
    • Participate in cooperative research efforts and clinical trials research protocols at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).
    • Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration, as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
    • Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
    • 3 years of Pediatrics Residency and 3 years of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
    • MD/DO or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Interest and experience in Leukemia/lymphoma is desired.

    The position includes care of inpatients and outpatients with a variety of pediatric hematologic and oncologic problems, including those followed in the St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate.
