Instructor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. This position is for in-person courses for fall semester beginning August 19, 2024. Position will be open until filled.
Minimum
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Music or related subject area. Eligible candidates for the in-person position must be available to teach on HCC’s main campus.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Music or related subject area. Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Experience working with a diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, ability, and ethnic background of students. Familiarity with Moodle or other learning management systems.
