Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Temporary Vocal Music Instructor– Scottsbluff Campus.
Responsibilities: Provide direction and leadership for choral activities and teach courses for vocal music program of study including performance, music education majors, and musical theatre majors. Position includes ensemble direction, voice lessons/coaching in Belt and Legit/Lyric styles and techniques, the production of superior public performances, and touring with ensembles of the music area.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in vocal music or a closely related field, the skills and patience to develop talent in singers and to produce high-quality vocal performances to advance the education of students. Requires learning-centered director and instructor with an ability to deliver effective instruction face-to-face, in a choral setting, and within technology-enhanced environment; community college teaching experience preferred. A passion for student learning along with student and college service weighted heavily.
Salary: Commensurate.
