Instructor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. The Cello Instructor – Suzuki and Traditional advances and supports the mission of The Music Settlement through the following actions:

This position reports to the Chair of the Center for Music, and the Suzuki Department Head

The Cello Instructor – Suzuki and Traditional must personally adhere to all established personnel policies and practices of The Music Settlement. As a member of the administrative staff, this individual must encourage a respectful, healthy, and productive work environment for all employees, volunteers, customers, and clients.
Educational requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in music (or related field) required, Master’s preferred. Registered Suzuki training through Book 4 required, higher preferred
Qualifications: Previous experience in private and group class teaching is desired. Salary will be based upon level of education and teaching experience.
