Instructor - Music teaches courses in the discipline area of music. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Music provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Music typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Essential Duties
    To oversee the Music Education program, to teach courses in the Music Education curriculum, to conduct the university’s band/ instrumental ensembles and teach woodwind class/applied lessons. The person holding the position will be responsible for assessing the University’s music education program in support of CAEP and NASM accreditation. Other responsibilities include participating in research, creative and scholarly activities, active membership and involvement in regional and national professional organizations. Additional responsibilities include recruitment of outstanding students, academic advising, participation in committee work, and service to the university and community.
    Minimum Qualifications
    Requirements include a Master’s Degree (or Doctorate Degree) in Music Education; 6 years of K-12 teaching; experience conducting bands, ability to teach woodwind instruments.
