Edge Music Academy is seeking a part-time, Music Teacher to provide music and performance lessons to students for any combination of the following instruments:

• Piano
• Guitar
• Voice
• Violin
• Woodwinds
• Brass
• Drums
• Ability to teach additional instruments is a bonus!

We’re looking for someone to do the following:

• Teach private or group lessons, in-studio, via zoom or at the student’s home depending on mutual availability
• Provide feedback and coaching to parents to work as a team monitoring students’ musical progress

Qualifications

• Demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
• Understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument
• Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in lessons
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor
• Responsive, open and professional in all communications
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with children and adults
• Ability to pass a background check
• Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians (At least one year of teaching preferred).
• Music degree from a 4-year undergraduate university preferred, but not necessarily required.
• Ability to travel to students located in the Chicago suburbs, including but not limited to:
• Lemont, Lockport, Tinley Park, Homer Glen, Palos, Oak Forest, Orland Park, Woodridge, Naperville, Bolingbrook
• Note: you will not be required to teach in all these locations, we will assign you a region based on your current location and ability to travel.
