Instructor - Music jobs in La Crosse, WI

The Conservatory for the Performing Arts at Viterbo University invites applications for a full-time Vocal Coach/Accompanist Instructor in the Department of Theatre and Music Theatre beginning August 2024. The primary responsibility of this full-time (9 month) salaried position includes vocal coaching and providing accompaniment for students in the BFA Music Theatre major. Additional responsibilities include music directing at least one musical production each season as determined by the department chair.

The successful candidate will be student centered, detail oriented with strong time management and interpersonal skills. They should excel as a piano accompanist, with broad knowledge of musical theatre repertoire. Proficiency in electronic instruments and live performance setup is essential. Experience with Electronic Music Design and the ability to program for MainStage, MalletKat, Synthesizer and similar technologies is preferred.

General Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree along with specialized experience and/or training in musical theatre accompaniment required. Master's degree is a plus.
• Collegiate instruction and diversified teaching experience is preferred.
• Professional experience may be considered in lieu of collegiate teaching experience and an advanced degree.
