Bertrand’s School of Music, part of Bertrand’s Music Enterprises, seeks highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Private Oboe Teacher. Teachers at Bertrand’s School of Music teach musicians of all ages and skill levels with an individualized curriculum in a safe, fun, and professional environment.

General Responsibilities/Duties:

• Teaching Music lessons.

• Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.

• Recruiting and maintaining students

• Preparing students for recitals 

• Offer email and video support

• Inspiring and motivating students 

• Building relationships and mentoring students.

• Continue to update and improve on teaching abilities as a music instructor

• Promote services and products available at Bertrand’s Music 

• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in music education or minor in music is preferred; years of experience on instrument are also considered.  Credentialed teachers are preferred, but not required. 

• Applicants must be organized, prompt, and responsible.

• All accepted teachers will be required to be fingerprinted and have a background check through the Department of Justice.

Bertrand’s Music has been serving the needs of musicians, schools, and music educators in Southern California since 1983.  From humble beginnings, founder and retired music educator, John Bertrand, Sr., started his shop in San Bernardino with the goal to offer excellent service, quality instruments, and to help promote music education.  We have now grown to multiple locations and offer sales, rentals, lessons, and repair for all band and orchestra instruments.
