Instructor - Philosophy teaches courses in the discipline area of philosophy. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Philosophy provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Philosophy typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.      Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds.
     
     Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Teach independent section of undergraduate Philosophy class(es). Duties include: (1) develop syllabus, (2) teach students, (3) grade exams and papers, (4) issue final grades.
    2. Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, grading, maintaining weekly office hours.

     
     Minimum Qualifications

    1. Master's degree in Philosophy from accredited university.

     
     Desirable Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Philosophy (or Ph.D. candidate with A.B.D.) from accredited university and relevant teaching experience.
