Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Philosophy typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible position at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, to begin August 15, 2024. Applicants at the Associate Professor level should be significantly advanced, well-established scholars. Area of Specialization (AOS): Open. Area of Competence (AOC): Open. We seek an established scholar who will pursue a vigorous research program, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and take full part in departmental activities. Applicants should submit a full dossier—including a cover letter, current CV, a research statement, a statement that explains their contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and 2-3 writing samples—via the UM Careers website. The dossier must be uploaded through the Resume/Cover Letter section of the online application.
