Instructor - Physics teaches courses in the discipline area of physics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     ABOUT THIS POSITION

    Summary: The Visiting Instructor of Physics is responsible for teaching lower division physics and/or astronomy courses for science and liberal arts majors. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

    Required Qualifications:
    • M.S. in physics or a closely related discipline by Summer 2023.
    • Effectiveness in teaching and creating a positive learning environment.
    • Enthusiasm for working with and inspiring undergraduate students.
    • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues.

      Preferred Qualifications:
    • Enthusiasm for teaching all introductory physics and astronomy classes.
