Instructor - Physics teaches courses in the discipline area of physics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. A good depth and breadth of knowledge in the areas of modern teaching pedagogy is very important. The faculty member shall have experience in programming in an object oriented programming language such as Python. Additionally, the faculty member should be active in professional development and research. Lastly, the faculty member should feel comfortable with advising freshman and developing a Learning Community course(s) that are relevant to the computer science discipline. Contingent faculty who are not engaged in meaningful research, advising, or service may be required to teach up to 15 credit hours per semester. This position is currently for the Fall 2023 semester only.
