    Description: 
    Columbia College-Rolla seeks an Adjunct (part-time) Instructor to teach Calculus-Based Physics for our pre-engineering program. This is a 5-credit hour course which meets in person for 2.5 hours four times per week, Monday through Thursday. Course topics include: linear, circular, and rotational motion; statics; elasticity; vibrations; waves and sound; electricity; magnetism; optics; modern physics; and astrophysics. Laboratory experiences based upon these topics are covered as well. There is a significant amount of calculus instruction included in these courses.
     
    Qualifications: 
    Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Physics or masters with at least 18 Graduate Hours in qualifying fields that provides foundation in specific field being taught. Current workplace experience in an associated field and college teaching experience are highly desired. Experience teaching physics and/or calculus is preferred.
