The Middlesex Health Beit Paley Center for Mental Health is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position. This is a one-year, full-time position with two tracks: 20 hours/week in the child and adolescent clinic, and 20 hours/week in the adult clinic. Both settings are outpatient, community mental health clinics with diverse clientele.
The primary job responsibility is providing individual, group, and family therapy; secondary responsibilities include psychological testing and supervision of doctoral-level psychology practicum students. Interdisciplinary staff meetings and consultation occur on a regular basis, as well as collaboration with other community providers.
Additional opportunities include psychotherapy and assessment within the hospital’s Transgender Medicine Program (i.e., transgender/gender non-conforming individuals) and day treatment program (i.e., PHP/IOP, dual diagnosis track, geriatric track). In addition, opportunities to receive training and experience with bariatric evaluations and ADOS-2 diagnostic evaluations also exist. In-service hospital trainings occur on a weekly and monthly basis, with participation strongly encouraged. Supervision is commensurate with the licensing requirements of the state of Connecticut.
