    Job Description:

    APPOINTMENT: August 17, 2023

    RESPONSIBILITIES: The instructor will be expected to teach introductory level psychology courses including Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality, or Child Development. A candidate with a Ph.D. or ABD may be eligible to teach upper division psychology courses in their area of specialty.

    Requirements:

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master's degree in Psychology
    • Ability to teach Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality, or Child Development courses.

    PREFERRERED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • PH.D. in Psychology
    • Experience teaching college courses, especially in Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality, or Child Development.
    • Experience teaching both in-person and online courses is also preferred

    For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of appointment.

    THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Psychology has 20 faculty, approximately 350 undergraduate majors, 300 minors, and 50 graduate students in Masters Programs (General Experimental and Clinical/Community Mental Health) and a Specialists program (School). The department includes a Psychology undergraduate major with two Options (Psychology, Forensic Psychology); as well as minors in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Aging Studies, Neuroscience, and Mental Health.
