Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Psychology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Psychology typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     Reports To: Supervising Behavior Intervention Specialist                                              
    Physical Requirements: Walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting, ability to perform physical intervention techniques, ability to lift 50lbs.
    Hours of Work: Full Time, Mon-Fri 37.5 hours a week. Some travel required.
    Pay Range: The pay range is $22.30 to $31.87


    Job Summary: Provide psychological and behavioral supports to individuals with special needs including training and instruction.

    Job Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in the field of Psychology.
    2. At least 1 year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities required.
    3. Must be able to communicate effectively.
    4. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
    5. Valid NYS Driver’s license is required.

    Major Responsibilities:
    1. Provide psychological/behavioral services to individuals in programs, maintaining compliance with department and agency policy/procedure, state, local and federal regulations.
    2. Record and maintain individual’s behavioral records in compliance with all department and agency policies/procedures as well as all state, local and federal regulations.
    3. Provide behavioral training to agency personnel to include, orientation, in home and work site, and provide documentation of the trainings.
    4. Provide crisis prevention and emergency crisis support.
    5. Collect & analyze data, observe individuals to provide feedback to Behavior Intervention Specialist for support plan.
    6. Attend psychiatric appointments with individuals.
    7. Attend site staff meetings.
