The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Iowa invites applications for one full-time Clinical Instructor (non-tenure track) position with faculty fringe benefits. This teaching position is a full-time 12-month appointment that is renewable every three years with excellent long-term potential. The preferred start date is July 1, 2024. Applications are sought from candidates with experience or a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching of basic microbiology and an associated laboratory, both with an emphasis on the relevance of microbiology to human health and diseases.
The selected candidate will direct and teach lectures and the associated laboratory of Microbiology and Human Health (MICR:3164) in both Fall and Spring semesters. Furthermore, the selected candidate will mentor graduate students in best teaching practices, contributing to the next generation of educators. The Instructor may also participate in other courses and activities in the Department depending on experience and teaching need. This position has extensive opportunities for creative course development and support for professional development.
The Department consists of 23 faculty members, including 3 full-time Clinical Instructors whose main role is teaching.
