Being an Instructor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. The Lima Family YMCA is seeking Swim Instructors to join our team. Mornings, afternoons and evenings.
PAY RATE: $12.50 per hour
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor is responsible for providing a safe and positive instructional swimming environment for YMCA members and program participants. The Instructor will focus on ages 6 months and up. The Swim Instructor must provide strong leadership, instruction (in accordance with National YMCA Aquatic Program Guidelines) and motivation for students in swimming classes.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum of 16 years of age.
· Reliable transportation to attend work.
· Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
· Interested in contributing to the mission of the YMCA.
CERTIFICATIONS:
· Current CPR/AED Certification preferred
· First Aid preferred
· The Lima YMCA will provide the CPR/AED courses in house for all staff.
· Swim Lesson Instructor (WSI or YSLI) preferred

Our swim school is looking for an instructor who can support our students in learning new swimming techniques and skills. The role of the swim instructor is to instruct and guide children in their swimming lessons and ensure that they are staying on track with the curriculum and are meeting their goals. Applicants for this position should be passionate about working with children, have a genuine interest in swimming instruction, have a competitive background in swimming, and be comfortable being in the water with children of various ages.
