Instructor - Special Education teaches courses in the discipline area of special education. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Special Education provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Special Education typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONALS (IPP) (Special Education)
    Bitterroot Elementary
    .5 FTE; 4 hours a day; 8am to 12pm; Monday - Friday
    $14.81/hour for 120-day probationary period, then $16.45

    TRS Retirement; Vacation/Sick Leave

    • Performs instructional activities as planned, assigned and organized by professional staff for individual and/or small groups of students
    • Works with the teacher with students who need to learn positive behaviors in order to be successful in the classroom setting
    • Helps in the selection, preparation and organization of materials appropriate to students' needs in accordance with designated lessons
    • Collects data and reports student progress to the teacher
    • Must have previous experience working with children
    • Requires a High School graduate or equivalent
    • Requires 60 semester/90 quarter college credits or successful completion of the WorkKeys Test to meet requirement of NCLB. (To take the WorkKeys Test at the Lincoln Center, call 281-5110 or email lynchl@billingsschools.org. The cost is $50.00)

    *Pre-employment physicals are required for this position and are paid for by the district.
