  • Summary

    ACES International Preschool and Childcare Center is seeking a preschool assistant instructor to support the instructor in creating an environment that is safe and caring for infants or children ages 2-3. The assistant instructor will ensure the care, learning, and personal growth of every student; establish effective rapport with students; and maintain good relationships with parents, staff members, and community members.  


    Duties

    The preschool assistant instructor will support the instructor with:

    • Creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow, play, and learn.
    • Ensuring all safety and security protocols are followed.
    • Working with staff and students to develop small and large group learning experiences that encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization and decision-making.
    • Communicating regularly with staff and parents, sharing children's milestones and achievements.

    Physical demands:


    • Must adhere to all CT State guidelines and ACES policies and procedures regarding immunizations, physical exam, and required health and safety training such as CPR, First Aid, and Administration of Medications, as well as all Covid-19 related guidelines as revised due to pandemic conditions and response.
    • Must have the physical ability to participate indoor and outdoor activities that may include lifting, moving or holding children from 20-60 pounds as well as walking, squatting, climbing and sitting on the floor.
    • Must be able to maintain mental and physical alertness and respond quickly to emergency situations.

    Requirements

    • Must be 18 years of age.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional childcare experience.
    • Understanding of child development.
    • High energy.
    • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
    • A bilingual speaker of Spanish and English: Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Spanish and English is a plus.

    Nice To Haves

    Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required.


    Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (preferred)
