SUMMARY:

This position provides laboratory support for the filling, cleaning, calibration, and packaging of glass capillary viscometers. These tasks must be conducted accurately to maintain continued manufacture of high-quality viscosity measurement products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Fill glass capillary viscometers (GV) with oil standards
2. Maintain equipment used for GV filling
3. Maintain filling oils in proper containers
4. Transfer GV to calibration station
5. Cleaning of GV during the calibration process
6. Maintain cleaning solvents in proper containers
7. Transfer calibrated GV to packaging
8. Measurement and preparation of certificates and documentation for calibrated GV
9. Packaging of calibrated GV
10. Transfer calibrated GV to stock shelves
11. Labeling and bottling of viscosity standards
12. Assembly of viscosity standard packaging as necessary
13. Participate in the maintenance of the calibration lab area
14. Maintain an orderly, clean, and uncluttered work station
15. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

1. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent
2. Basic computer knowledge is necessary
3. Familiarity with chemistry lab operations helpful but not required
4. Comfort in working with hydrocarbon solvents and oils is necessary
5. Good communication skills are a must
