Insurance Claims Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the evaluation, processing, and handling of insurance claims for an organization. Acts as a liaison between the organization, its insurance provider and agents, claimants, and policy holders regarding the status and eligibility for coverage for all relevant claims. Being an Insurance Claims Coordinator reviews claims to make sure that billing requirements are met, updates accounts as necessary, answers inquiries, and makes recommendations for resolution. Typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Insurance Claims Coordinator typically reports to a manager. The Insurance Claims Coordinator gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.     Our Headquarters Claims Department seeks an Express Claims Specialist I for the Express Claims Center. This position requires self-study to secure adjuster licensing within 30 days after the start date. To assist with the training course and exam, associates are allotted on-site study time. This is a hybrid role requiring the individual to work 50% of the time in the office while working remotely the other 50% through a fixed department schedule.
    The Express Claims Center has a demonstrated history of individuals gaining valuable training and becoming exceptional claims adjusters and marketable insurance professionals. This is a hard-working, team-oriented and highly engaged group of individuals who are passionate about customer service and achieving great results. Department leadership and the team provide a comprehensive training experience to prepare associates for future roles throughout the Claims department and the company.
    Starting Salary:
    The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

    Be ready to:

      • research coverage, investigate and adjust low dollar first and third-party auto and property claims in 42 states
      • communicate directly with policyholders, claimants, agents, body shops and auto rental business partners through phone, email or texting
      • comply with state department of insurance requirements
      • demonstrate empathetic listening skills and problem-solving ability
      • work independently with minimal supervision
      • exhibit excellent teamwork
      • resolve issues through research and critical thinking
      • attend departmental trainings as required

    Be equipped with:

      • excellent customer service skills
      • the initiative to assist and educate other associates
      • the ability to obtain a multi-state adjuster license within one month of hire
      • excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • accurate and efficient keyboarding skills
      • knowledge or experience with CMS or other claims reporting programs
      • knowledge or experience with Microsoft® Office and Excel (preferred)

    Bring education and experience from:

      • a high school diploma (required)
      • an associate degree or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
      • post-secondary (college, trade school or alternative) study (preferred)
      • demonstrated success in a customer service role (preferred)
      • a demonstrated track record of learning inside or outside of the workplace (preferred)
