THIS ROLE: 

As the Insurance and Claims Coordinator at Curtin Maritime, you will The Insurance and Claims Coordinator is responsible for managing all insurance programs and overseeing insurance claims for the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Manage insurance portfolio, including insurance certificate requests, premium tracking, and annual renewal processes
• Coordinate all claims from initial notification until completion and ensure compliance to claims processes
• Communicate with all parties in the claims process, including employees, adjustors, surveyors, and insurance company personnel
• Track all expenses and payments related to claims and ensure timely reimbursement
• Ensure accurate and complete claims files for internal and external use
• Remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes
• Provide input into strategic decisions that affect functional areas of responsibility
• Support legal department as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:

Certifications and Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level or professional experience
• 5 years of experience in Insurance or Business fields
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and other business software
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner
• Expert problem solver, analytical thinker

• Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong negotiation skills both verbal and written

Physical Aptitudes

• This is primarily an office environment.
• This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.  Ability to lift, up to 20 pounds for files, deliveries, and related supplies. 
• Vision or correctible vision to 20/20. 
• The work environment includes the frequent use of stairs.
• Ability to work in an office environment and follow HS&E safety protocols when walking through a manufacturing area with maritime construction.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, office phones, smart phones photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• This position may have occasional local or national travel. Less than 5%
