The Insurance Verification Specialist works within Augusta Oncology's Billing Department and is responsible for:

• managing multiple interoffice communication channels to facilitate patient insurance verification
• contacting patients' insurance companies to verify specific benefits, eligibility, and levels of coverage
• working with patients to inform them of benefit information
• obtaining and maintaining up-to-date referrals for in- and out-of-network insurance plans
• updating patient information upon change of plan/benefits

Requirements

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
• 1 - 3 years of previous experience in the medical billing field
• Comprehension and understanding of medical insurance benefits such as deductible, out-of-pocket, co-pay, limited benefit plans, and coordination of benefits
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
