The Insurance Specialist day to day duties include:

• Verifies patient reimbursement eligibility requirements and coverage for Home Health Care.
• Initiates pre-certification or prior authorization for all Home Care services by calling or using insurance portals.
• Obtain re-authorizations as required by phone, fax or insurance portal.
• Coordinates benefits with in-house case manager and nursing supervisors.
• Completes daily workflow tasks assigned within our software.
• Notifies patient of their insurance coverage benefits.
• Enters appropriate insurance benefits, authorization of visits and coordination notes into the electronic record.
• Maintains insurance company information for follow up for insurance contracts.
