Insurance Verification Specialist

Billing Specialist need for a busy physician’s practice. Must be multi-disciplined in billing, collections, denials, credit balances and the various payers. Responsible for follow-up of accounts for all payers, as well as - complete resolution of claims denials. This position is Full-Time Monday- Friday, dayshift.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify and document all patient accounts accurately based on what type of insurance product the patient has, PPO, HMO, other Managed Care Organizations, Medicare Advantage Plans, Government plans, Motor Vehicle or Workman Compensation policies.
• Completes accurate and timely insurance eligibility verifications.
• Obtains necessary verification of insurance and other eligibility programs
• Confirms referrals as needed prior to patient visit
• Advanced knowledge of In-Network and Out of Network processing
• Contact patients and physicians’ offices as needed to verify data or obtain information
• Cover other Insurance Verification Specialists as needed
• Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal and HIPPA laws and guidelines
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
• Answer any questions that Front Office staff have in a timely manner

Qualifications and Skills

• Must possess positive attitude
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Registration Clerk
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience with insurance verifications
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to problem solve and make appropriate decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability

Benefits/Compensation

• Pay rate is $14-$16 per hour
• Full Time
• 1st Shift
• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts.
