May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Insurance Verification Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Insurance Benefits Specialist
Starting: $17.00-22.00 DOE
We are looking for an experienced Insurance Benefits Specialist to join our fast-paced medical practice in Eugene, OR.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintain insurance authorizations for current patients
· Scan and upload documents from insurance providers into electronic records system and notify appropriate departments.
· Responsible for pre-certification/ authorization and insurance verification for all patients.
· Research, follow up and resolve open & pending authorizations in a timely manner
· Calculate cash estimates for patients on upcoming visits/ procedures.
· Contact patients regarding financial obligations.
· Maintain strict confidentiality of the patient and clinic related business.
· Obtain prior authorization for procedures.
Work Experience Requirements:
· High School Graduate
· Understanding ICD-10, and CPT Codes
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/ Office 365
· Certified Benefit Checker (preferred)
· 1 year experience (required)
· Experience in the practice of optometry and ophthalmology preferred
