Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for the pre-verification of insurance for patients being admitted into the hospital for care. Ensures insurance coverage by telephone, resolves any issues with coverage and escalates complicated issues to a supervisor or manager. Being an Insurance Verification Specialist interviews patients and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all hospital and regulatory policies are in compliance. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Insurance Verification Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Insurance Verification Specialist typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     As a Billing and Insurance Specialist for Homeland HomeHealth, you would contribute to our community of caring by processing insurance verifications and billing for patient visits.

    • This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, position,

    As Homeland HomeHealth’s Insurance and Billing Specialist you would be responsible for verifying patient insurance and managing accurate and timely completion and submission of the billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions of the organization. A critical component of this role is to demonstrate the agency’s culture of compassion, accountability, and results by displaying the highest standards of integrity, superb follow-through, consistency, first rate customer service and exceptional client satisfaction. 

     

    Insurance and Billing Specialist Requirements include:

     

    Education/ Skills

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proficient computer skills in business applications.
    • Knowledge of office equipment (i.e. printer, fax, computer) use and simple maintenance.
    • Possess strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with diverse populations.
    • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques to assigned duties.
    • Ability to multi-task effectively.
    • Ability to collect, interpret, and/ or analyze complex data and information.

    Experience

    • Minimum age requirement of 18 with high school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of home care/ home health billing experience.

     

    Licensure, Registration, and Certification

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with Pennsylvania state requirements.
    • Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
    • Satisfactory criminal background check.
    • Access to reliable internet access outside of the work setting.
