Position Description: 
Are you looking to be a key member of a small team with big mission impact? Do you enjoy building applications to exploit high-value data? NS2 Mission is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed professional to fill the role of Software Engineer SME. This position will be joining our team based in the Tysons, VA area. This position will focus on front-end development in Vue.js, with a Java backend, for a production search application. The developer will be responsible for communicating system features and concepts to other team members, end users, and program management. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the development team, debugging various development and O&M processes, and maintaining system documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with fellow team members to understand user requirements, design application features, and build application capabilities for search and discovery.
• Assist data engineers with data modeling and ETL processes to make raw data usable within the ecosystem of our search application.
• Contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap for our systems to continually improve the power, speed, and usability of our services.

Required Qualifications: 

• 15 or more years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience programming in Vue.js, JavaScript, CSS, Java Spring/Spring Boot, and HTML5, or other related programming languages
• Experience building and using REST APIs
• Experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of software practices and configuration management.
• Experience with JIRA, Git, Artifactory, or related tools
• Experience working on large mission critical software projects
• Experience with continuous integration
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with entity resolution across datasets
• Experience with visualization frameworks such as D3.js, V Charts, or Chartkick
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Experience with Extract, Load, and Transform (ETL) tools
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience working in an Agile development environment

Position Clearance Requirement:

 TS/SCI with FSP
