Position: Intellectual Property (IP) / Life Sciences Associate Attorney

Location: Hybrid Remote, various offices across the United States including all major US Market Cities (NYC, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Austin, SFO, San Diego , Atlanta)

Base Salary: $200,000 to $325,000 annually

This law firm is an AML 100 leader in formulating IP protection strategies and managing patent portfolios for companies ranging from small to large. Boasting around 100 registered patent attorneys with diverse technical backgrounds, they specialize in prosecuting patent applications across various scientific domains. Their expertise extends to guiding clients through the patent application process, handling proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and strategically challenging pending applications and issued patents to safeguard market share and operational freedom. The firm is globally connected, utilizing a network of foreign associates to assist clients in filing patents internationally.

Job Description:

The firm is in search of a junior to mid-level patent associate for its Intellectual Property group. The position is open to candidates across the country, and preference for office location can be specified during the application process.

The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in life sciences, including evaluating patent portfolios, conducting due diligence investigations, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and managing patent portfolios.

Applicants must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, with a strong background in scientific fields relevant to biotechnology. Bar admission in the state of residence is a requirement, and an advanced degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology is desired.

Prior experience in a law firm setting is mandatory. Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills are essential, and candidates with leadership abilities and a comfort level in direct client interactions are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Anticipated annualized base salary range: $200,000 to $325,000.
