May be responsible for preparing patent or trademark documents, licensing agreements, service agreements, transfer agreements and other contracts or agreements as necessary. Being an Intellectual Property Attorney aids in protecting the organization's assets in the area of intellectual property. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, Intellectual Property Attorney requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to a manager. The Intellectual Property Attorney work is closely managed. Attorney sought to provide civil rights and disability rights legal services to people with disabilities. This position is open to individuals with 0 to 5 years experience, including individuals graduating from law school in spring 2024. Preference is for attorneys with experience in civil rights and/or disability rights issues, including fair housing, employment discrimination, ADA accessibility issues, IDEA, and/or Medicaid; however, individuals with other relevant school or work experience or those with a strong desire to pursue a career in public interest law will receive strong consideration.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
2. Active license to practice law in both state and federal courts or scheduled to take the bar exam in summer 2024. An active Kansas law license is preferred for experienced attorney applicants, but applicants with a law license in another jurisdiction who are eligible and willing to apply for a Kansas law license through a reciprocity motion is acceptable.
The salary depends on experience and salary history ($52,500 To $70,000, with the top of that range reserved for candidates with exceptional experience, abilities, and salary history).
