    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


    A High School Diploma or its equivalent and four (4) years of experience in property or inventory control.


    College education from an institution can substitute at a rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


    Must successfully pass background check that includes a criminal history check and fingerprinting. Must be approved by the Department of Corrections’ Contract Manager, or designee and complete required orientation/training in the supervision of inmates, prior to assuming supervision. Shall attend refresher training annually thereafter.


    Occasional to moderate travel required.


    Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.

    Successful applicant must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting, as a condition of employment.


    JOB DUTIES:


    This position works independently and with a minimum amount of direct supervision performing administrative duties to include: researches and gathers data and prepares written reports; monitors and maintains records on district property; provides property controls through assignment of inventory numbers, locations, and disposal of all assigned state, federal, and sensitive property; monitors acquisition, use, and disposal of all federal excess property; independently initiates audits and inventory checks to ensure proper property disposition; interprets policy and procedures; and maintains records.


    Responsible for the inventory of state, federal excess and sensitive property. Works with supervisors to conduct annual inventories and to ensure that they are completed accurately and timely. And that all inventory items are identified and accounted for. Maintains databases associated with these inventories. Ensures that all accountable property is located, inventories properly identified and that acquisition, transfers and disposal of property is properly documented, including conducting federal property sales. Responsible for the assigning and displaying of all property numbers and tags with proper documentation of the value, age and condition. Maintains records of fire department leases, and in conjunction with local Forest Area Supervisors, conducts annual inspections. Supervises the work center documentation and upkeep of inventory records and upkeep of equipment use.


    Operates, maintains and issues materials and supplies to shop personnel as per established procedure. Receives, inspects and in-process new equipment including verification inspection, entry in appropriate inventory databases, requesting fuel cards and vehicle tags. Issues new equipment including performing final over all inspection, notifying owning unit, and changing location and shop in database program. Enters and removes purchased stock and supplies in the warehouse program.


    Supervises medium security inmates. Must be able to retrieve between 1 and 4 inmates from Baker County Correctional Facility daily. Must be able to plan their workday, provide the necessary tools and supervise the work of these inmates. Responsible for recording “gain time” and reporting this time during the annual review.


    Performs other related duties as required, which may include the handling of revenue.
