    This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days/month, and as needed, spent in-office at New Hartford, NY.

    What you will do

    You'll be responsible for adjusting property claims for our homeowner personal lines customers. You'll communicate regularly with all parties involved to complete investigations and review estimates from our IA partners or staff field adjusters in a timely and thorough manner. With skills in analysis, you'll also review the claims against the insured's available coverage. During times of weather or other related catastrophic events, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting our customers with protecting their largest investments, their homes.

    Key responsibilities

    • Investigate and make coverage determinations, preparing complete scope and adjusting to disposition predominantly personal lines and occasional commercial lines losses.
    • Make extensive personal contact with insureds, their legal representatives and customer agents; occasionally contact law enforcement officials.
    • Operate on an independent basis with limited supervision in handling/settling claims within assigned authority.
    • Submit reports within specified time frames as required by the Claims Technical Manual or as required by the supervisor or manager.

    What you need

    • Four year college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
    • 3-4 years adjusting experience in first party property line of business.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also functioning as part of a team.
    • Familiarity with state Insurance Department regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Proficient in MS Office and claims management systems.
    • Proof of licensing required.

    Licensing

    Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims. Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment.


    Salary Range: $60,100-$90,200

    The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee’s work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.
