    Opportunity

    To provide intellectual property support within the Legal Department. Act as a liaison to the Legal Department to in-house associates and outside counsel. Assist with projects, research, reports and general legal matters.  Assist with patent portfolio management and support e-billing platforms.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Assist with patent portfolio management under direction of attorney, including preparing committee agendas, corresponding with inventors and outside law firms, and preparing financial reports.
    • Prepare, obtain, and maintain IP files and docketing system.
    • Preparation of correspondence (letters, faxes, e-mails).
    • Perform necessary legal research.
    • Prepare various legal documents under the direction of attorney.
    • Create and update Legal department databases, queries, and reports.
    • Schedule meetings and appointments with in-house personnel and outside contacts.
    • Follow up to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Receive and initiate telephone calls with proper etiquette.
    • Greet personal callers and visitors with proper etiquette.
    • Track inflow/outflow of ACT's for attorneys.
    • Act as back-up assistant within the Legal Department.

    Skills/Requirements

    • 3 to 5 years of administrative experience, or Associate’s degree in Paralegal studies or a related field and at least 2 years of administrative experience required.
    • Prior knowledge and experience in Legal field preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage a large and diverse workload.
    • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to gain a grasp of department, company and organization practices, policies, and procedures.

    The hourly range for this position is $24.90 - $31.10. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
